1. Who is responsible
deepsonicecho.com is the personal website of Deep Sonic Echo (pen name), a private individual based in Finland. For anything about privacy, write to contact@deepsonicecho.com.
2. The short version
The calculators run entirely in your web browser: the numbers you type are never sent to me or stored anywhere. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletter and no advertising. This site sets no cookies. Fonts and images are served from this site itself. Outside services such as YouTube and Spotify load only if you press play.
3. Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site against attacks. I do not use this data to identify visitors. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
4. Visitor statistics
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets no cookies, does not use your browser's storage, does not fingerprint you and does not follow you across other websites. I only see totals, never individual visitors. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
5. Videos and music players
Some pages show a YouTube video or a Spotify player. They are not loaded when the page opens: you see a still image, which for videos comes from YouTube's image server, and nothing else is loaded until you press play. When you do, the player is loaded from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com) or from Spotify, and their own privacy policies apply: Google and Spotify.
6. Links to Amazon
Links to the book Anima go to Amazon and carry my Amazon Associates tag. As an Amazon Associate, Deep Sonic Echo earns from qualifying purchases. Nothing is shared with Amazon when you only visit this site. If you follow a link, Amazon may use cookies on its own site to record that the visit came from here; see Amazon's privacy notice.
7. Email
If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply and to fix what you report, keep it only as long as needed, and never share it or add you to a mailing list.
8. Children
This is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Your rights
Under the EU's data protection law (GDPR) you can ask what personal data I hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. In practice this site holds no personal data about its visitors. The only personal data I could have is an email you have sent me: if you ask, I will tell you whether I have one and delete it if you wish. If you believe your data has been handled wrongly, you can contact the Finnish data protection authority, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
10. Other websites
Some pages link to other websites, such as Amazon, YouTube, Spotify, Instagram and official statistics sources. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
11. Changes
If I change how data is handled, for example by adding advertising, I will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
